STEP 3 Preparing the Candidate

Preparing the candidate for the assessment is crucial in ensuring that they fully understand the context of the assessment process.

During this part, you need to introduce yourself as the assessor briefly explain your role and then introduce the TESDA Representative, AC manager and even the processing officer if they are with you during the orientation process.

During the orientation you need to properly stablish the purpose and context of the assessment process. To do this, you as an Assessor you must inform your Candidate what they need to do, the competencies that will be tested, as well as how the pieces of evidence will be gathered, the time will it take and the different methods that will be used.

During this time, you also need to explain to your candidates the allowable and reasonable adjustment that you can provide should the need arises,

Aside from this, you also need to inform them of their rights to appeal the result of the assessment process, and its procedures.  Since the assessment needs to remain confidential, you need to remind the candidates of this confidentiality and the integrity that needs to be maintained by all concerned.

You are also to inform them the re assessment process should the candidates does not meet a competent result.

By giving candidates, a clear understanding of what to expect, they can better prepare themselves for the assessment and focus their efforts on the areas that are most important.
