Houseband at Large

I do household chores

It never was like this when I got married, 7 years ago.  But when my eldest is about to turn five, after entering preschool, he had asked me to look for seeds that he could plant.  Not really knowing why he wanted to, we did look for seeds. It really took as time to find a place where we could buy seeds that he could plant, until we did.

Unfortunately, after months of hard work, and tending with my son's plants, a storm had hit us that destroyed most of the vegetables that we have planted except for one Calamondin (Kalamansi) and a hot pepper that I have happened to have planted on a container.  These surviving plants started it all a year after.

Just a month ago my wife and I had decided to live on a separate house with her parents, both of us are working and with my son entering grade school we need to do some adjustment in order to ensure that despite of our work, we could still tend to the needs of our son.

Luckily enough my wife works as a secretary for our parish making it easy for her to take and pickup our child from our house to school and vise-versa.  Contrary to what people might think and believe of the title, I also work, the only difference is that I only work for six hours a day, five days a week compared to my wife. Which simply means that I am the one who spends more time at home compared to her.

This is where I want to start this blog of mine, hopeful that by sharing my experiences I will be able to encourage more husbands like me, to help in the household chores and in rearing their child, since it is my belief that being a 'houseband' is part of being a true husband, and truly living a married life.
