Backyard Gardening

In my recent post, I mentioned about the two plants that have survived the rainy season last year, here they are now.

Kalamansi in a pot
Fig 1. "Kalamansi" Tree
First is the Calamondin (Kalamansi) tree (Fig 1) that I had bought in a nursery near our place more than a year ago.  It was very small then but already bears a single fruit. A year after, after surviving the rainy season, we can now look on how it has grown, for this year, since it is "Kalamansi" season, if has started to flower and to bear some fruits.

In fact, I had already used three of its fruits to marinate a pork a few days back.

Oh yes, rainy season has already started, which is the reason why I have decided to place this one on a shaded area, but can still receive the sun it needs to continually grow and bear fruits.

Taiwanese Green Pepper
Fig 2. Green Pepper
Next is the Taiwanese Green Pepper (Fig 2) that had survived, similar to the  kalamasi tree, it was already bearing some fruits when I bought it from the nursery.  However, I think I overdid the dried chicken manure that I have used to fertilized it that resulted for the plant to bear yellow green leaves.  Which is also the reason why I have decided to transplant it to its new location, hopeful that it will survive and bear more fruit in the years to come.

For this year, I bought two more calamondin trees, that I have directly planted in the garden,  hopeful that it will grow similarly, or better than what I had last year.

A blessed day to all!
